Joe Buonannata

Associate Director, Operations

As Associate Director of Operations, Joe helps lead the Connecticut Green Bank’s people operations, with a focus on recruiting, retention, and organizational development.

Joe first started with the Green Bank in May 2012 as a temporary summer hire, which transitioned into an internship, and later full-time employment on the Finance and Residential Programs teams, where he helped develop and lead the daily operations of residential financing programs including CT Solar Lease, CT Solar Loan, and Smart-E Loans. He was a founding member of Inclusive Prosperity Capital which spun out of the Green Bank in August 2018 and helped develop programs and processes for the nonprofit organization, along with leading the hiring process of nearly 20 staff in four years. He returned to the Green Bank in July 2022.

He holds a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA and an M.S. in National Security and Public Safety from the University of New Haven. He is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Connecticut.
